The Unika+ has been improved in a number of ways over the Unika W300 and predecessors. Listed here are the most important notes for people who have used an older Unika:


It is no longer necessary to press the cheese hard against the thicknesser. 

  • Place the cheese against the thicknesser and apply light pressure. 
  • Let the knife do the work. 
  • It works best to raise the knife arm halfway and then place the cheese against the thicknesser. Slide the cheese up a bit after each cutting motion. 
  • Pushing the cheese hard against the thicknesser, especially with younger and softer cheeses, can damage the cheese.

The heat element is now adjustable in heat. Choose a setting that suits your ambient temperature and cheese type.
